Police say a man who impersonated officers during a June home invasion robbery in southwest Miami-Dade is under arrest.
Joseph Quiroz, 18, was arrested on charges of armed robbery, armed burglary and falsely impersonating a police officer. His arrest follows that of 29-year-old Usmael Carvajal, who was booked into the Pinellas County Jail June 28.
The pair is accused of breaking into a home in the 9800 block of Southwest 159th Street wearing bulletproof vests and holding badges. They allegedly handcuffed the husband and wife who lived inside the home before stealing money from a safe.
Carvajal was arrested after the Pinellas Park Police Department received information that a fugitive from Dade County was possibly in the area.
Quiroz was allegedly found in Newnan, Georgia, where he was living at a hotel.
He was booked into jail Friday.
