FLL Adds Designated Nursing Rooms For Traveling Mothers And Babies

Officials at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are hoping to give traveling moms and their babies a few more moments of peace, quiet and comfort with new, designated lactation rooms.

Just beyond security checkpoints at FLL are now pods where mothers can pump and breastfeed their babies. The pods are equipped with seating, electrical outlets, and even extra room to bring other children inside, if mom happens to be traveling alone.

Airport leaders say that moms are welcome to breastfeed anywhere, but that the pods have been added to provide more options and comfort for women.

These spaces at the first of their kind at FLL. According to MomsPumpHere.com, prior to the designated pods, "nursing moms traveling through South Florida can... use one of three family restrooms located in Terminal 1, Terminal 4, and the Rental Car Center."
