Four Teens Arrested For Hialeah Burglaries, Trafficking Prescription Pills

Four teens are under arrest in connection to burglaries at two Walgreens locations in Hialeah.

Surveillance video from the Walgreens at 7605 W 33rd Court on July 20 shows the suspects breaking into the store’s entrance. In the video, both suspects had their faces covered. The video shows the two breaking in to the store's pharmacy.

Video from another Walgreens at 780 E. Ninth St. on July 22 shows a suspect breaking in and also going straight for the pharmacy.

Hialeah police caught up with the suspects and arrested four teens. Authorities say they range in age from 16 to 19. They all face charges of burglary and trafficking perscription painkillers.

Police said the group was after narcotic prescription painkillers to sell on the black market.

Police also say this is a symptom of a much larger epidemic where gangs break into pharmacies to steal and then sell the powerful painkillers.
