He's not calling it "Planet of the Apes," but an Ocala man is concerned about a monkey invasion in Marion County.
Over the past few days, Brian Pritchard has captured the images of about 50 rhesus macaques coming onto his property and taking food from a deer feeder with a camera that he placed outside.
Pritchard says the primates have eaten 250 pounds of food in recent days. He says they are likely coming from Silver Springs State Park and he calls them vicious.
The man lives about four miles away from Silver Springs State Park. Two parts of the park were recently shut down because of aggressive monkeys.
It's estimated that 200 monkeys live in the park but many are seen beyond its boundaries.
