A Marathon woman is behind bars after being accused of pointing what turned out to be a pellet gun at her 18-year-old neighbor.
Marathon resident Marie Resnick, 46, arrested Wednesday. A neighbor says that she (the neighbor) was playing music outside as she did yard work. She says she was taking a break in a hammock under her house when she saw Resnick staring and yelling at her.
The woman says she couldn't hear what Resnick was yelling at her, but that she saw her raise something that resembled a long and black rifle, police say.
Upon realizing that Resnick was aiming a gun with a scope on it, the woman hid behind a concrete pillar and then ran into her house, according to authorities. The 18-year-old neighbor's father called 911.
Police responded and recovered the rifle, which turned out to be a pellet gun, from Resnick.
Resnick now faces a charge of aggregated assault with a deadly weapon.
It is unclear what caused her to aim the weapon at her neighbor.
