MLB, Marlins Prepare For Upcoming All-Star Week In Miami

In case you missed it, or in case you've been hiding under a rock for the past few months, the Miami Marlins will be hosting Major League Baseball's 2017 All-Star Game on July 11 at Marlins Park. 

The contest will feature the best players in the league, as judged by fans, MLB players and the Commissioner's office. Here is a complete lineup for the National American league rosters, with two of our very own fish:

The festivities will kick off on Friday, July 7, as the MLB All-Star FanFest sets the stage at the Miami Convention Center. Events are taking place from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. from the 7th - 11th. FanFest tickets can be purchased, here.

Other events to fire up the crowd include a 5K run, Zumba class, workout day and more

Before the big game on Tuesday, fans can tune into the Home Run Derby (8 p.m. Monday). Tickets can be purchased here.

Wednesday, Major League Baseball, the Miami Marlins and local officials held a press conference to brief the public on information about the game and its surrounding events for fans, residents, and visitors. You can watch the entire press conference, here:

Subjects covered included street closures, anti-counterfeiting information, stadium security, transportation and more. In an effort to ease traffic interruptions, the MLB has also issued All-Star week parking and transportation maps.
