A judge has denied a request to reduce bond for a woman accused of killing a Florida police officer and severely injuring another during a drunken driving crash.
Judge Mark Jones told 32-year-old Lacy Marie Morris Thursday that she's "no stranger to violating court orders" during a hearing in Key West. She has a history of drug-related arrests in the past decade.
Authorities say Morris turned in front of a scooter driven by 40-year-old Delray Beach officer Christine Braswell on April 8. She faces a DUI manslaughter charge.
Morris declined a breathalyzer at the crash scene but a blood-test measured her blood alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit to drive.
An attorney for Morris told the judge his client's blinker was on.
