Talk about a tragic way to die...
A Jacksonville street sweeper who was allegedly trying to clear something from underneath the machine was killed Saturday when he was sucked underneath it.
The incident happened in the parking lost of a McDonald's restaurant at San Jose Boulevard and Loretta Road where witnesses reported hearing a man's cry for help but couldn't reach him in time before the accident turned fatal.
Police say the victim was in his late 40s or early 50s. His identification and the company he was employed by has yet to be released.
An investigation has been launched by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
