A South Florida police dog is recovering after being hit with a bullet during a robbery shootout.
Palm Beach Sheriff's Office K-9 unit Casper was released from veterinary care Sunday after the round was removed from his hindquarters. Authorities say the bullet was actually intended to hit his (human) partner and Palm Beach County Sheriff's officer.

Casper recovered from anesthesia and is now on antibiotics. Authorities say the pup is walking well considering the circumstances.
He has worked as a bomb, SWAT and patrol dog. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Casper has even been used to protect the president.
The suspect, 46-year-old Phillip Oshea, was killed in the Friday shootout with deputies in Jupiter.
Investigators say he was involved in a bar robbery earlier that day and had outstanding criminal warrants in North Carolina.
