Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was abuzz Sunday, but not all passengers were in good "spirits."
Spirit Airlines cancelled nine flights departing from FLL, leaving passengers frustrated and demanding answers from officials.
According to a report by WSVN, airport officials said five inbound and four outbound Spirit flights were canceled Sunday. They stressed that no other airlines were affected.
Amid the cancellations, there were allegations of pilots going on strike. WSVN quoted one expectant passenger, saying “[the flight crew] said that some pilots were on strike. We’ve been in line for three hours,” she said. “They’re not telling us nothing, They have no flights going out.”
Spirit officials, however, denied any strike strike.
In a statement, Spirit Airlines spokesperson Stephen Schuller wrote, “To be clear, there is no strike. Some flights were canceled due to crew availability. We are working hard to re-accommodate all impacted customers and apologize for any inconvenience.”
Spirit Airlines, which is based out of Miramar, has been voted in the past as the worst airline for customer satisfaction.
On social media, they don't rack up the highest reputation, either.
