A Key Largo woman was arrested Friday for allegedly abusing a 4-year-old girl.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office authorities say the child told school officials that 43-year-old Melodie Starr injured her because she had "been bad."
Authorities say the child arrived at school Friday morning with injuries on both of her arms. The "highly visible red and diagonal marks and bruises" ran up and down her right arm and the back of her left arm, authorities say.
Paramedics who were called to the scene believe the injuries could have been caused by someone grabbing and twisting the girls arm hard.
Deputies questioned people at the school and the child's home before Starr was taken into custody.
She faces an aggravated child abuse charge.
Authorities say the Florida Department of Children and Families has also been notified.
