Hialeah Man Allegedly Lures Cat Into Bedroom, Mutilates It, and Hangs It Over Fence

A Hialeah man if facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly luring a neighbor's cat into his home, mutilating it and hanging it over an adjoining fence. 

Eduardo Rodriguez-Montegudo, 20, was arrested Thursday.

Authorities say Rodriguez-Montegudo told police he lured the cat into his bedroom at 881 W. 51st Place and was playing with it until it annoyed him. Police say he then strangled the black cat with a graduation tassel and sliced open its stomach from head to tail. He also cut of one of the feline’s paws.

Authorities say the cat's owner contacted police after finding the pet.It's unclear if Rodriguez-Montegudo has an attorney.
