SpaceX is set to launch a spy satellite into orbit for the intelligence community this morning.  SpaceX didn't share any details on what type of surveillance the mysterious satellite will conduct.  However, the customer for the launch is the National Reconnaissance Office.

The NRO is a U.S. government agency that maintains and develops spy satellites.  The agency says it surveys potential threats to the country by tracking terrorists and nuclear weapon development in other countries. They add they can also provide an early warning for a possible missile strike.

Watch the liftoff from Kennedy Space Center below. Window opens at 7:15 a.m.
