(Orlando, FL) -- A judge has refused the request of accused cop killer Markeith Loyd to have a well known Miami criminal defense lawyer be his public defender.
Loyd insisted he represent himself in court, then relented and agreed to have a lawyer if it was Miami Attorney Terence Lenamon.
The judge says Loyd has a right to an attorney, but does not have the right to choose a specific lawyer that is being paid for by the state.
Loyd is accused in the murder of Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton and ex-girlfriend Sade Dixon.
