U.S. Secretary Of Education Visits South Florida Schools

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy Devos is visiting South Florida Thursday to visit a number of schools.

Devos is scheduled to visit FIU in the morning, which will mark her first visit to a public university since being confirmed in her cabinet post.

She will also visit CARE Elementary and SLAM charter schools, both in Miami.

Devos is a known supporter of charter schools and school choice – a position that has caused disagreements from public school officials who opposed her nomination by President Donald Trump.
