A Florida man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering his 2-month-old son.
Gene Anthony Quinones-Rivera, 27, pleaded no contest Monday to stuffing a sock into his sons month to keep him from crying in 2015, which ultimately killed the boy.
A Panama City judge gave Quinones-Rivera the maximum sentence for second-degree murder.
An investigation began in December when Quinones-River confessed to police that he caused the death of his son. In a January interview, the man said he had smoked marijuana that night and was angry by the child's unending cries.
The court recommended that Quinones-Rivera be placed in a prison in South Florida.
