Different grassroots groups around South Florida gathered to rally on the first day of the legislative session Tuesday. Political non-profit, For Our Future, organized the event in front of the Miami-Dade Government Center. Many of the organizations there say they're fighting for change.
Laura Reynolds with Friends of the Everglades says she doesn't want to see fracking in our state.
"Not only is it dangerous in other places, but our geology is so sensitive that there's just no place for it in Florida, especially in the Everglades," said Reynolds.
Similar "Awake the State" rallies were held around Florida Tuesday.
