Economy Parking to end at FLL Airport

If you fly out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, get ready to spend more to leave your car behind.

Due to the growth and dozens of added flights, the increase in traffic has put parking at premium . Officials have announced they're closing the $7.50 a day economy parking lot on April 19th. They admit, it's so they can make more money.  Any travelers who departs town before April 19 will have until April 30 to move their vehicles out of the lot.   They will not be allowed into the economy lot if they are returning after April 30.

Travelers will be sent to the close, but twice as expensive Cypress parking garage.  3100 spaces have been added as the employee parking will be moved to the former economy lot (4000 spaces) located in the 2300 block of SW 42nd Street.  Airport employees will begin using the lot starting  May 1.

The price in the parking garage will remain at 15.00 per day.
