Miami Beach Mayor To Testify Before U.S. Senate Committee

U.S. Senator Bill Nelson asked Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee about infrastructure Wednesday.

Mayor Levine is going to talk about the need for sand and better seawalls in coastal communities and improved public transportation.  However, the mayor says the process to get these things done, takes too long.

“The federal government needs to work with the mayors of America, bypass the states as much as they possibly can, work directly with municipalities, make the process fast and quick, and that way we’re going to get public transportation,” said Mayor Levine.

Mayor Levine says he plans on explaining his solution to the Senate Committee to get the ball rolling on improving our infrastructure.
