The National Council for Home Safety and Security had announced their annual report of the Safest Cities in Florida for 2017.
The council used current FBI crime and population reports, and combined that with their own data and research to create the list of the safest cities. The council did not include any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and discounted cities with populations less than 5,000.
Parkland has been ranked as the number one safest city in the state of Florida, followed by Weston, Marco Island, Bay Harbor Islands, and Valparaiso to round out the top five. A complete list of the top 50 safest communities is listed below:
