Boil Water Alert for Local Royal Utility Customers

Royal Utility customers in the Coral Springs area are under a boil water advisory until Friday evening or until the Health Department clears the affected area.

The neighborhoods affected are Coventry, Coral Trace, Carriage Pointe, Ramblewood East, Royal Eagle Plaza, and Riverside Square.

Authorities say it is possible that harmful bacteria are present in the water due to a pressure loss. The Coral Springs Fire Department took to Facebook, urging Royal Utility customers to boil all water used for cooking, brushing teeth, drinking, and other everyday activities.

Water does not need to be boiled for bathing, showering, or doing laundry. Dishes can also be washed if hot water is being used. If not, officials say to disinfect.

They have also provided a map, detailing the affected area, shaded in purple.

Royal Utility is urging customers to follow their Facebook page for updates on the water main break.

The fire department says it will provide updates as they become available. Customers can call 954-341-7565 for more information.
