An accused human trafficker and 14 migrants are on American soil after getting caught by the feds.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection air crew spotted the suspicious boat near the Bahamas. A boat crew caught up with the vessel about 12 miles southeast of Government Cut.
It wouldn't stop, so the Customs crew used warning shots and a disabling fire.A Coast Guard cutter responded to the scene and the 15 people were taken onboard.
On the boat were an Ecuadorian migrant, a Jamaican migrant, six Chinese migrants and six Sri Lankan migrants.
Coast Guard officials have identified a Cuban national with American residency as the smuggler.
All have been handed over the Homeland Security agents.
