State Medical Marijuana Tour To Stop In Fort Lauderdale

The state's medical marijuana regulation tour stopping in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday.

The Florida Department of Health is seeking input on its proposed guidelines this week.  Advocate, Ben Pollara with Florida for Care, says the state isn't doing enough.

"People approved this constitutional amendment knowing that we had an existing limited medical marijuana law, that was not a secret.  They voted for a broader medical marijuana law, like half the rest of the country has and that's not what the Florida Department of Health is proposing," said Pollara.

The department has until July to come up with revised rules and until September to implement them.

The public workshop is at the Broward County Health Department from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
