Could Hard Liquor Sales Be Coming to Grocery Stores?

Some day soon, you may be able to stock up on food and hard liquor in the same store..

For the third straight year, Miami State Senator Anitere Flores has filed a bill in the Florida Legislature to get rid of a prohibition-era law that says grocery and big box stores can sell beer and wine, but they have to have a separate store for whiskey, vodka and other hard liquors.

"You can go online, you can get on an app, and you can order any type of liquor from you phone, so why are we still in this antiquated era?" Flores said.

If approved, the law would be bad news for stand-alone liquor stores because they'll face more competition from the big grocery chains.
