Gas Prices Dropped Over Last Week

Filling up your gas tank costs a little less this week.  Gas prices have dropped a few cents over the past week, to a statewide average of $2.38 for a gallon of regular.

AAA's Mark Jenkins expects prices to fall a little more over the next few weeks before they start heading back up. "Gas prices are declining right now but you probably wouldn't really notice it if you're just looking at the pump every other day or so.  They've falling at about half a cent a day.  They've fallen for about eleven consecutive days."

Jenkins predicts prices will peak around $2.75 a gallon later this year. "That rise usually starts in February, in fact, February 26th marked the rise last year, it started on that date and until March 31st prices rose 33 cents."
