Mike Kolen, a member of the 1972 undefeated Dolphins Super Bowl championship team, died yesterday at 76.

He started 13 games for the 1972 Dolphins, the only team to this day to complete a perfect season in the NFL.

Kolen notably picked off Johnny Unitas’ pass in the 1971 AFC title game, a 21-0 Dolphins win over the Colts.

The two-time Super Bowl winner also earned All-SEC honors at Auburn.

Nicknamed "Captain Crunch" for his hard-hitting play, Kolen intercepted Terry Bradshaw in the last minute of the 1972 AFC Championship game.

Kolen admitted in 2014, “I never tried to hurt anybody, but football is a physical game. I enjoyed that part of it."

He went on to say that it was all coming home for him as he required several joint replacements.

Kolen leaves behind his wife, Nancy, and two children.
