Fake Ozempic? Several people in Austria have been hospitalized after taking fake weight loss medications they thought were Ozempic.

Patients are suffering seizures and low glucose levels.

The fake pens apparently are dosed with insulin, instead of semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic.

Semaglutide is generally safer to use than insulin, because it works like a gut hormone that helps control blood sugar by improving insulin sensitivity. Overdosing on insulin, on the other hand, can kill you.

Apparently, the fake weight loss drug is circulating around Europe and is still on the market.
