Three Montana women are recovering following a rare attack by an otter.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks says the trio was floating on inner tubes down the Jefferson River this week when at least one of the animals attacked.
The victims were ultimately able to swim to shore, where one of them called 911.
One woman sustained injuries to her face and arms which were severe enough to necessitate airlifting her to a hospital.
