(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) -- Venus and Serena Williams have made history on the tennis court and are also the first African American women to be part owners of an NFL team.

When Stephen Ross became the majority owner of the Dolphins in 2009, he sold one percent $10-million ownership shares to several different celebrities like the Williams sisters.

Palm Beach Gardens residents Venus and Serena Williams each became part owners in the Miami Dolphins in 2009 and today the team is estimated to be worth $4.6 billion.

In 2008, Ross bought 50% of the Dolphins franchise and later purchased an additional 45% in January 2009 at a total value of $1.1 billion.

Other stars who own a part of the Fins include the Estefan's and Fergie. JLo used to own a share but that went to her ex-Marc Anthony when they divorced.
