Ron DeSantis will reportedly start granting interviews to mainstream outlets as his presidential campaign is in the midst of a “strategy shift.”

Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary and DeSantis is dropping in the polls.

DeSantis’s reported about-face is just another sign of his campaign’s struggle to connect with voters.

DeSantis has frequent confrontations with the press as governor and has largely avoided talking with the mainstream media. But his campaign reportedly is now planning to do interviews around a series of policy proposals he will lay out in the coming weeks, according to people familiar with the plans.

The campaign is also hoping DeSantis’ new biography will help humanize the candidate who has been called stiff and extreme. He plays up a modest upbringing, service in the Navy and family life.
