$100-Million Chess Defamation Suit Dismissed

A judge is dismissing a 100-million-dollar defamation lawsuit filed by an American chess grandmaster against others in an alleged cheating scandal. Court documents show that Hans Niemann is accusing Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, online platform Chess-dot-com, and others of trying to unlawfully blacklist him from playing chess. The judge also dismissed without prejudice Niemann's claims of libel and slander, which means he can refile on those same allegations.
