Former NBA champion Dwight Howard may have caused an international incident.
Howard's being criticized on Chinese social media for calling Taiwan a country.
The eight-time NBA All-Star is now a player in Taiwan's basketball league, and appeared in a video this week saying that since coming to Taiwan he's gained "a whole new appreciation of this country."
Howard's comment caused a viral backlash in China, which has long claimed sovereignty over the self-ruled Democratic island.
