Record-breaking Roller Coaster Closer to Opening

A new, record-breaking roller coaster is about to open at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.

Crews just put the last piece of track together for the new Jersey Devil Coaster.

Thrill seekers will hit top speeds of 58-mph while zipping along the 3,000-foot track. A press release from the company says the ride will feature five intense elements, including three dramatic inversions.

The coaster will feel different from many others because passengers will ride single file with their legs straddling either side of the monorail track.

Cars will climb a 130-foot hill before plunging riders down an 87-degree drop.

The Jersey Devil should open up this summer, but an official date hasn't been announced.
