Tesla Founder Gets Even Richer

It's been a heck of a week for SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk.

His rocket successfully launched four people into orbit. He got diagnosed with the coronavirus. His Tesla car company will enter the S&P 500 on December 21st.

It's that last piece of news that launched Musk's standing on the list of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The 49-year-old is now the third richest person in the world, jumping right over Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Musk's personal fortune climbed by $82-billion just this year.

Musk's estimated $110-billion fortune is still dwarfed by the number one name on the list, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos who is worth an estimated $185-billion.

Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bernard Arnault (the French CEO of Louis Vuitton), round out the top five.
