(Fresno, CA) -- A Fresno State English professor is under fire for tweeting that the late Barbara Bush is an "amazing racist." Tuesday's post on Twitter comes following the death of the former First Lady.
Professor Randa Jarrar tweeted out, "Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal. (expletive) outta here with your nice words."
The original tweet garnered thousands of replies.
Fresno State President Joseph Castro sent out a statement that says the school shares a concern with Jarrar's tweet and that her statements were made as a private citizen.
