Operation Stormwatch South Florida

South Florida's home for HURRICANE, TROPICAL STORM, AND SEVERE WEATHER coverage.

Tropical Depression Fred Remains Disorganized

The 11:00 advisory is out, and it's good news for us.

Hurricane Hunters have determined Tropical Depression Fred remains poorly organized with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles-per-hour.

It's located about 80-miles west of Great Inauga Island.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center expect to issue a Tropical Storm Watch for portions of the Florida Keys and the southern Florida Peninsula this afternoon.

They anticipate between tomorrow and Monday, the Florida Keys and South Florida will see three to five inches of rain with isolated maximum totals of eight inches.

The Monroe County Emergency Management is urging residents and visitors in campgrounds, recreational vehicles, travel trailers, live-aboard vessels, and mobile homes to prepare to head to friends or family in a safe structure.
