A massive cargo ship is blocking Egypt's Suez Canal, bringing shipping to a halt in one of the world's most important shipping routes. The 13-hundred foot, 220-thousand ton Ever Given, en route from China to the Netherlands, ran aground sideways in the canal yesterday after it was reportedly hit by a strong gust of wind. Efforts to refloat the ship have so far failed as traffic has backed up in both directions.
