(Brooklyn, NY) -- Mixed Martial Arts fighter Conor McGregor is in custody following a wild brawl yesterday during a UFC press conference at the Barclays Center.
NBC4 New York cites sources who say McGregor is expected to be charged with assault in connection with the rampage.
According to witnesses, McGregor and his entourage threw chairs and a guard rail at a bus with fighters in it, potentially injuring other fighters. President Dana White called it the "most disgusting thing that's ever happened n the history" of the UFC.
White announced his intention to strip McGregor of his championship belt due to his having left the sport to box with Floyd Mayweather Jr. last summer.
McGregor angrily blasted UFC management on Twitter, saying they would "strip him of nothing."
