A Fort Pierce jury is recommending the death penalty for a former cop and firefighter convicted of shooting a man three times and then setting him on fire while the victim was still alive.
Jurors voted 11-1 yesterday to recommend death for Otto Lenke who murdered Richard Benson at the victim's motorcycle repair shop in 2021.
The judge will make the final decision on Lenke's fate in July.
