Municipal Elections May Be Moved In Pembroke Pines

Pembroke Pines commissioners discussing a proposal to let voters decide whether to move the city's municipal elections from March until November to increase turnout and cut down on costs. Commissioner Mike Hernandez says ultimately voters will have the final say. Turnout reached sixty-five percent during the Presidential election in 2024, compared to just seven percent earlier this month. If this gets the green light, the current terms of all five commission members would be extended by about eight months until November of 2028.
