Tampa, FL - U.S. Central Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, is playing a leading role in Operation Epic Fury, a large scale military campaign directed at Iranian military targets.
The operation began in late February and involves coordinated actions across multiple domains under the authority of U.S. defense leadership.
According to military officials, the strikes targeted infrastructure described as critical to Iran’s military capabilities.
Identified objectives included command and control facilities, missile and drone launch sites, air defense systems and select airfields.
Officials said precision guided munitions were used in the operation, with assets deployed from air and naval platforms operating within the region.
Central Command also reported that U.S. forces responded to attempted retaliatory strikes involving missiles and drones.
Military officials stated that defensive systems were activated and that no U.S. service members were killed or injured during the initial phase of the campaign.
Authorities described the situation as ongoing, with additional monitoring and defensive measures in place.
Operation Epic Fury is being conducted in coordination with allied partners.
Military leaders indicated that the campaign includes the use of evolving tactics and emerging technologies as part of broader operational planning.
MacDill Air Force Base serves as the headquarters for Central Command, which oversees U.S. military operations in parts of the Middle East and surrounding regions.
The operation does not involve suspects, arrests or alleged criminal activity, and there are no arrest reports associated with the military action.
