Closing time could be coming earlier in Fort Lauderdale. Commissioner Steven Glassman says they're looking at curfews, rolling back alcohol sales and outlawing open containers in the Himmarshee and Beach Place entertainment districts after recent shootings. Both districts sell alcohol until 4 a.m. Commissioners could vote to prohibit sales after 2 a.m. and increase the police presence to ensure safety. Any new rules would be in place well ahead of the March Spring Break crowds.
