Residents who want to use the athletic fields at a western Palm Beach County park will now need a permit.

The Indian Trails Improvement District has voted to require that from anyone using the fields, a change from the previous policy that groups of ten or more needed a permit.

"I think this is a public place why would they be enforcing something like that there is so many things that come here they also play soccer they do different things and different sports and activities they should not be enforcing things like that if this is a public place."

Arhayana Bolt tells CBS 12 News that it seems unfair since residents already pay in their property taxes for Acreage Community Park.

But Indian Trails says the permits will serve as a reservation system to ensure that all policies and procedures for using the fields are understood for users' safety.
