Governor Ron DeSantis at Florida International University today saying he's asking the legislature for funding aimed at enhancing cancer research, diagnosis and treatment. FIU President Jeanette Nunez says this should help give patients hope. The state will soon open its third application cycle for funding available through the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund, providing pilot grants for research. The state allocated 60 million to the fund for the current fiscal year.
