An off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office corrections deputy is dead, shot last night in Belle Glade. The department says that the targeted incident occurred in the 1400 block of Northwest Avenue D.
There's no information yet on a suspect.
The deputy,39, had been with the agency for three years. A ceremonial escort took place overnight from St. Mary's Hospital to the Medical Examiner's Office.
