Miami-Dade, FL - A thief in southwest Miami-Dade shocked business owners after security footage revealed him stealing over $15,000 worth of perfumes, cash, and more in a daring early-morning break-in.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday, January 19th at a store located on 83rd Avenue and SW 8th Street.
The store, identified as Perfumería Arabe y Más, was the target of the robbery.
Security cameras captured the suspect arriving in a vehicle, backing into a parking spot, and forcibly kicking in the glass door to gain entry.
The footage shows what appears to be a janitor casually walking with an empty trash can.
Additional clips reveal the same man loading the trash can with fragrances from the store and making multiple trips to his car to unload the stolen goods.
The thief also took perfumes that were on display, cash (despite the store typically avoiding leaving cash overnight), and even packed boxes of products intended for customers.
Adding to the shock, the thief even stole the garbage cans used in the heist.
Despite having a security system and motion sensors, the store was not alerted to the break-in because the owner's phone was on silent.
He learned of the incident through others working in the shopping plaza.
The footage captured the suspect’s license plate, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and the stolen goods have not been recovered.
Other business owners in the area are now on high alert, worried they could be targeted next.
