Police in Stuart have arrested a Central Florida man in connection with a string of burglaries in gym parking lots over two years.

A tip led detectives to 47-year old Albert Christian Surens Velazquez.

They began to canvas gym parking lots throughout the city and spotted the suspect in front of an L.A. Fitness, allegedly burglarizing a truck.

After he was taken into custody, it was learned police say they learned that he had previously broken into another vehicle.

Right now, the Orlando man is charged with two counts of motor vehicle burglary, but investigators expect to file additional charges.

A reminder from police that vehicle break-ins are common in places like gym parking lots where crooks know that people will be leaving their cars for an amount of time. They also urge residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables inside them.
