Pembroke Pines, FL - Authorities have arrested two teenagers and a New York woman in connection with serious threats made against Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines last November.

Pembroke Pines Police announced Wednesday that a 15-year-old from New York and a 14-year-old from Michigan were behind the November 9th hoax threat targeting the school.

In addition, 37-year-old Elizabeth Smith from New York was arrested for allegedly instructing her son to destroy evidence related to the investigation.

Following the threat, Somerset Academy increased police presence on campus during the week of November 11th to ensure student safety.

The incident began when a male caller, posing as a Somerset Academy student, contacted authorities with threats directed at both the school and law enforcement.

The caller identified himself by name and claimed that violence would occur between November 11th and 15th.

Investigators later determined the threat was not credible and classified the call as a hoax.

Despite the suspects' use of multiple methods to conceal their identities, police successfully tracked them down.

Both teens now face charges of making threats to use a destructive device and unlawfully using a two-way communications device.

The 14-year-old suspect turned himself in on Wednesday and is currently in a juvenile detention facility.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested in New York earlier this month and is awaiting extradition to Florida.

Smith, charged with solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence, was arrested in New York but has since been released on bond.

She is expected to surrender to Pembroke Pines Police later this month.
