Man Arrested For Stealing Over $3K in Perfume From South Florida Pharmacy

Miami-Dade, FL - A Miami-Dade man is facing serious charges after authorities say he stole thousands of dollars worth of perfume from a local pharmacy in December.

Authorities report that 35-year-old Teneric Jovan Collins-Jones was arrested on Monday and charged with burglary of an occupied structure and third-degree grand theft.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from a theft that occurred on December 20th, 2024, at the Navarro Discount Pharmacy located at 14405 SW 88th Street in the Kendale Lakes neighborhood.

Authorities report that Collins-Jones entered the store around 7:30 p.m. while customers and employees were present.

Surveillance footage captured him jumping over the fragrance counter into a restricted employee-only area while carrying a white laundry bin.

Once behind the counter, Collins-Jones allegedly stole various perfume products valued at approximately $3,187.

He placed the merchandise into the bin and exited the store around 7:40 p.m. without attempting to pay.

A store employee working at the fragrance counter witnessed the theft, and the entire incident was recorded on security cameras, officials said.

Further investigation revealed that Collins-Jones was already in custody at the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center on unrelated charges.

Detectives from the Hammocks District Burglary Unit linked him to multiple similar thefts at other Navarro stores, noting he used the same method of operation.

During questioning at the detention center, Collins-Jones was read his Miranda rights and confessed to the crime, though specific details of his statement were not released.

As of Wednesday, Collins-Jones remains in custody with his bond yet to be determined.

Authorities continue to investigate his connection to other retail thefts in the area.
