Broward County prepping for an evacuation drill at the main courthouse in Ft. Lauderdale. Don't worry there's no emergency; it's only a drill. Broward County is conducting a fire drill and mandatory evacuation of the West Tower of the courthouse at 2:30 this afternoon. All elevators will be turned off so that means thousands of employees and trial participants for judges who may be in trial - will be walking down the stairs and going outside. Once there, court staffers will gather at designated meeting locations before re-entering the building. This is for the West tower only -drills will be conducting at the North Wing and other downtown courthouses at a later date.
